Authorisation
Each MAES Mobility Card is completely uniquely configurable. The employer chooses which type of transactions the employee may use the card for. Authorisation of the various mobility services is done online via the self-service module.

Administrator
Person who performs MMC administration on behalf of the customer and is authorised to request, block and manage MAES Mobility Cards.

Available balance
The balance with which the cardholder can make transactions.

C

ClimaCount
Concept where CO2 emissions are calculated from the expenses made with the MAES Mobility Card. The CO2 emissions can then be offset.

CO2 offsetting
Offsetting CO2 emissions caused by an activity or product, by investing in offset projects such as, for example, renewable energy, forestry, greenhouse gas capture and energy saving.

Conditions of use
The general terms and conditions of MAES as well as the general terms and conditions of the MAES Mobility Card, regardless of the form in which they are made known.

Cardholder
The natural person designated by the customer, or employee, who is entitled to use elements of the service and the MAES Mobility Card.

Chain journey
The distance covered from door to door, which can be carried out by motor vehicle, walking, by rental bicycle or scooter or by public transport.

Customer
The legal entity or natural person, acting in the exercise of a profession or business, who has entered into an agreement with MAES.

Customer number
Eight-digit personal number of the cardholder which can be found under the name on the MAES Mobility Card. This number may be requested when communicating with MAES or its partners to identify the cardholder.

Credit
A credit, expressed in euros, paid in advance by the customer or cardholder to the issuer for use of the mobility services.

Fuel card
Card through which fuel and lubricants can be obtained and paid for.

Four-eye principle
Principle of MAES that ensures there is always an additional check by a second administrator of adjustments made by the first administrator.

Issuer
Company with whom, if agreed, the customer enters into an agreement for a MAES Mobility Card facility.

Physical Visa card with MAES logo and possible partner logo.

MAES customer number

Mobile parking
Making a parking transaction using a mobile phone, by sending a text message to a pre-designated phone number at the start and end of the parking period. Check here for more information.

Mobile website
MAES’ online self-service module for cardholders who are on the move and have a smartphone. On this page, cardholders can check the available balance, plan a route, recharge their Dutch OV-chip card, retrieve their PIN, find the nearest car park and much more, anytime and anywhere.

Mobility services
The services offered by MAES’ partners via the MAES Mobility Card. These can be both products and services. See here for more information on these mobility services.

Modularity
A separate component of the MAES total package that can easily be expanded with several components.

Partner
A partner with whom MAES has entered into an agreement to provide mobility services linked to the MAES Mobility Card.

Prepaid
The prepaid MAES card only works if a credit has been deposited on the card in advance. If there is no or too little credit on the prepaid MAES card, payment cannot be made. Therefore, the balance on the prepaid MAES card is replenished to the desired spending credit every week. This spending credit is entered by the manager when applying for the card.

Product
The MAES Mobility Card is personally adjustable for everyone. In advance, you discuss with your employer which products and services are available to you. Products include refuelling, parking, taxi and public transport. Click here for an overview of all products and services.

Purchasing advantages
Obtain a lower purchase price by MAES buying products and/or services on a large scale.

R

Reservation amount
Amount reserved in advance by some companies, such as car rental companies and hotels. This amount is deducted from the actual costs incurred. If you have reserved more than you need, the amount will be credited back to your MAES Mobility Card.

Retailer
Company or institution that accepts the MAES Mobility Card as a means of payment.

Self-service module MAES
Secure area on the website where the administrator can manage, manage and request the use of cardholders’ mobility services.

The MAES service desk is MAES’ customer service centre. For contact details and opening hours, visit our contact page.

Services
The MAES Mobility Card is personally adjustable for everyone. In advance, you discuss with your employer which services and products are available to you. Services include payment and the mobile website.

Top-up amount
The amount by which the credit on the MAES Mobility Card can be increased.

V

Visa network
Worldwide network in which payment can be made with a Visa card, so naturally also with the MAES Mobility Card.

VAT collection invoice
An invoice showing all mobility services paid for with the MAES Mobility Card in a given period. The VAT specified on this invoice can be used for the VAT return.
