MAES Charging Station

MAES has been welcoming electric and hybrid vehicles for some time now thanks to our MAES Hybrid Card. But on top of that, we have also launched a project to install ultra-fast charging stations at our own stations.

Which charging stations can you find at MAES stations?

At MAES, we are also working on installing around 100 ultra-fast charging stations at our locations, in collaboration with our partner Sparki. The aim is to enable you (depending on your car) to continue your journey for hundreds of kilometres within 10 to 20 minutes.

Each MAES charging station has two plugs: a standard CCS cable that can deliver up to 320 kW and a liquid-cooled cable that can handle up to 1,000 kW. Sparki’s current stations deliver a maximum of 350 kW because there are still very few cars that can handle more than 350 kW. This allows you to charge your electric car’s battery to 80% in a minimum amount of time. Our charging stations are up to six times faster than the first generation of fast chargers (50kWh), which can still be found in many places. The power and speed of our charging stations are therefore incomparable to a traditional charging station, which only delivers a fraction of the speed of our charging stations. This means you can always be sure that charging stations are available and that they meet your needs.

Electric charging station

With our ultra-fast electric charging stations, we aim to combine the traditional petrol station with electric charging. Regular charging stations can be quite time-consuming, and although some petrol stations in the MAES network have a pleasant shop to pass the time, you often don’t want to stay at a petrol station for too long. That’s why we immediately opted for the ultra-fast MAES charging stations, so you can get back on the road quickly, just like you used to with a traditional car. Electric charging

MAES can answer all your questions about electric charging. Not only are there significant differences between car types, but also in the ways you can charge them. The difference is not only in price, but also in charging speed and availability of charging points, for example. At MAES, we try to give you a clear and honest overview of the advantages and disadvantages of electric charging. Are you opting for an electric or hybrid car? Charging station nearby

The first MAES charging stations were installed at our ESSO Wilrijk location at the end of 2022.

Since then, more stations have been added at ESSO Destelbergen, ESSO Beveren, MAES Deinze, SHELL Assebroek, and MAES Sint-Kruis. In the coming months, we will be adding charging stations at many more locations — aiming for a total of one hundred chargers.

In 2024, we installed over 15 new ultra-fast charging stations in collaboration with Sparki. You can now find these at MAES Schepdaal, MAES Wolvertem, ESSO Mechelen, MAES Heist-op-den-Berg, ESSO Ciney, Shell Wilsele, Shell Overpelt, ESSO Wommelgem, MAES De Panne, ESSO Essen, ESSO Aartselaar, MAES Bornem, ESSO Brasschaat, MAES Zulte, MAES Kampenhout, MAES Rotem, Shell Sauvenière, and ESSO Steenokkerzeel.

At the moment, there are 34 locations equipped with ultra-fast charging points. The most recent additions include: ESSO Ekeren, ESSO Flémalle, ESSO Hoboken, ESSO Kalmthout, ESSO Londerzeel, ESSO Mechelen, MAES Ruisbroek, ESSO Sint-Niklaas, ESSO Tervuren, ESSO Wijnegem, ESSO Willebroek, and SHELL Zeebrugge.
