According to Vlarem II legislation, every tank must be equipped with an overfill safety device. An overfill safety device is the solution for informing your fuel supplier that your storage tank is almost full.

As overfill protection, we always use a probe. The probe is an electronic device, a level probe, that will be connected to the truck at unloading. When the tank is almost full, the probe sends a signal. Thus, the supply is automatically shut off. At Maes, we always use the probe whenever it is technically possible because it is the safest method.

Inspection according to Vlarem II

The legislator stipulates that a tank inspection of a storage tank must be carried out by a recognised technician. Our company works with recognised technicians who can carry out all examinations.

During this tank inspection, the technician checks whether your filling and ventilation tube is in good condition. He also checks the proper functioning of the overfill protection.

After a positive tank inspection, through an ultrasonic test, you will receive a green plate to attach to the tank and a certificate of conformity. This is proof that your tank complies with Vlarem legislation.
