These seem like obvious tips, but sometimes a small mistake is so there!
Some more handy tips for safe refuelling:
- Every station has a clearly marked emergency stop. So you can always react quickly if necessary.
- Keep an eye on the fuel gun while refuelling so the tank does not overflow. And, of course, do not forget to put it back in the holder after refuelling.
- Never empty your ashtray into the bin at the pumps. A smouldering cigarette may well cause danger.
- Safe refuelling is a big priority at MAES. We do our best for this along our side: in fact, there are all kinds of safety mechanisms, safety valves and even heat sensors that can detect a fire and thus shut down and secure the station. However, by performing the above steps yourself, you too are doing your bit for safety at petrol stations.
