MAES Energy & Mobility enters partnership with the Princess Maxima Centre Foundation Belgium
Every year, about 400 children in Belgium are diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, one in five die from this disease, and many who are cured experience the effects of intensive treatments later in life. The Princess Máxima Centre Foundation Belgium is committed to providing these children with the best possible care, with a special focus on movement therapy.

MAES
Why exercise therapy is so important
Children with cancer move much less than healthy peers due to their disease and treatment. They experience all kinds of obstacles to stay physically active and therefore spend more time sitting or lying down. While exercise actually helps enormously with their recovery and well-being. The ‘MAXIMAal Bewegen’ programme has been specially developed to encourage these children to keep moving in a safe and playful way.
Specialised training for physiotherapists
In order to offer tailor-made movement therapy, the Princess Máxima Centre Foundation Belgium, in collaboration with KU Leuven (Department of Motor Rehabilitation), wants to set up a specialised training course for physiotherapists. This will enable these professionals to give children with cancer the right guidance during and after their treatment.
Together we make a difference
Projects like this are only possible thanks to support from the community. Donations and collaborations help fund the necessary training and therapies. So when we were approached to support this wonderful project, we immediately responded positively. We are proud to support this project for the coming years.
